St. Andrew´s is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School for children between 3 and 11 years old. At this school, the ethos and teaching are firmly based on Christian principles and we have strong links with St. Andrew´s church
Our Ofsted report for R.E. (2009) commented:
"Learners and staff speak highly of the way they are cared for in school. Parents are very happy with the education their children receive and with the Christian ethos that underpins teaching and learning."
St. Andrew´s School is a learning community for all and we strive constantly to give our pupils the best possible experience of primary education during these important years.
There are two forms of entry. We also have a morning and afternoon nursery. The standard number of children in each class is 30. There are always more applications than places for both Nursery and Reception!
We are very fortunate in having a well-maintained building and extensive play areas and a playing field for our children. This helps us to provide curriculum enrichment with a variety of sports clubs.
We are very pleased to have received several awards recognising the work we do. So far, these include Investors in People, the Leading Parent Partnership Award, and the Active Mark. We are also working towards the ICT mark and re-accreditation for the Healthy School Award. These represent a huge amount of effort by the staff and children, and are very well deserved.
We do all we can to help our pupils learn to understand and respect others so that by the time they leave, they will have a firm foundation that will prepare them for working and living in today´s society.
Our school aims to…
"In harmony with God, each other and the environment,
experiencing challenge and success"
